July 1 every year and are due, without penalty, by September
14 (in 2026)
------Current year Winter taxes are mailed to homeowners on
December 1 every year and are due, without penalty, by February
16, 2027
Treasurer's Office Hours for
the collection of taxes are 9am - 5pm on the following dates:
September 14, 2026 (summer taxes due without penalty)
December 28, 2026 to collect taxes for those who would like
to pay by the year end
February 16, 2027 (winter taxes due without penalty)
March 1, 2027 (last day for township to collect summer and winter
2026 taxes)
2026 Taxes are considered 'delinquent' on March 2, 2027 and
must be paid at Allegan County

2026 Poverty Exemption
The Valley Township Board has taken a moderate approach to poverty
exemptions, and has adopted the federal income guidelines plus
an additional 25% and as asset test that limits an applicant’s
eligible assets to the house and one car with a value of $15,000
or less.
